God, what a horrible fortnight. So much has been written. I’ll just record two brief thoughts. First, one idea circulating has been that the Palestinians have kept alive grievances of their homes lost in 1948, and that it would be better if they moved on, the way Europe’s many post-war refugees moved on and rebuilt their lives, avoiding irredentism, treating the post-war boundaries as settled.
